One can now gauge the success of Turkish series from the trailer and the cast. In a previous article, I explained why differently themed Turkish series often fail in Turkey. I even provided examples from the series “Çöp Adam.” Although “Çöp Adam” was fantastic, its different storyline compared to typical Turkish series made it unable to become a long-lasting show.
Nowadays, having a strong cast is not enough for Turkish series to survive. For example, we can say that the series “Aile,” featuring Serenay Sarıkaya and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ in lead roles, struggled to reach the end of the season. It barely completed its first season but managed to stay afloat with some breakthroughs in the second season.
